A LITTLE ABOUT ME

The Beginnings

When I think about it, I have always had an affinity for photography and films. I remember being someone who took an interest in documenting family gatherings, or moments spent with my friends at school. Having a moment in time frozen and available to revisit felt magical to me; it was as if I was storing a snippet of fleeting time to carry with me.

Perhaps it was my young age, or a lack of introspection about how deeply photography resonated with me, that kept me from considering it as a career back then. As the years went by, and I found myself flowing with the winds of career trends as an IT professional, I slowly began to take my interest in photography more seriously.

In 2018, I consciously rediscovered my passion for photography and nurtured it through photography courses and countless YouTube videos covering different genres. Eventually, I bought a Nikon D5300 with a kit lens, thanks to my brother, who helped finance it, and I began my journey into the world of photography.

What Landscape Photography Means to Me

For me, landscape photography is a way to capture nature in its most captivating state. I am most drawn to photographs made when nature feels transient. Whether it is autumn leaves deep in a woodland, moments away from being swept aside by the wind, or an epic sunrise or sunset at the cusp of transformation as the day changes.

Landscape photography, to me, is also about emotion. It is when an image evokes a deeply rooted feeling, whether it is the stillness of an icy landscape or the raw energy and movement represented by a waterfall.

These are the kinds of images I strive to create.

Beyond Photography

Apart from photography, I take a keen interest in cinematography and filmmaking. As a cinephile, I spend most of my time watching movies or thinking about them. I’m also a foodie, and cooking comes naturally to me.

I’m currently based in Germany with my beautiful wife, Nisha. We enjoy spending our time together travelling, cycling in the summer, eating, and binge-watching American sitcoms.

YouTube

In 2025, I started a YouTube channel with the idea of documenting the highs and lows of a landscape photographer’s journey in search of meaningful images. It also serves as a way to motivate myself to step outside, explore nature, and embrace the process rather than chase perfection.

As mentioned earlier, I take a deep interest in filmmaking, and through this channel I get to practise every stage of the creative process, from planning and shooting to post-production, including editing and sound design.
